How to Make your Vintage Flower Paper look Fabulous

Flowers are a great way to add a feminine touch to any space. There is such a wide variety of choice that I`m sure you will find the perfect one for you. My personal favourite is blue lobelia. Here are a few other vintage flowers:

  • Lavender – purple flowers with bracts, which is a modified or specialised leaf.
  • Daisy – typically white leaves with a yellow centre.
  • Camelia – appears rose like in pinks and creams.
  • Lily – large trumpet shaped flowers, white, yellow, pink, red, and orange.
  • Amaryllis – a red bell like flower.
  • Tulip – single flowers which have 6 upright closed in petals, variety of colours.
  • Primrose - a variety of forms and colours, pallid yellow flower most common.
  • Dahlia – a variety of colours bushy in form with leafy stems.
  • Petunia – tubular flowers in pinks, purples, whites
  • Geranium – clusters of flowers above a bushy leaf, pinks, purples, white and red in colour.

Decorate Your Room With Vintage Flower Paper

For all you creative folk out there, always looking for your next project this may be the thing for you!  There are many different ways you can use your vintage flower paper to turn your chosen room into a girly getaway. Once you have chosen your vintage flower paper design from digitalpaper.shop you can choose a feature wall which will give a unique look to any room. You can simply paste the paper straight onto the wall or using plain canvases cover and glue them with your design paper and hang as eclectically as you wish.

Another feature you can do using arts and crafts is decoupage. This is up there with my favourite craftwork along with papier-mâché which I used to love doing at school.

Decoupage is when you cover your furniture in your chosen paper and glue using the appropriate adhesive, for longevity paint over with clear varnish.  You can refresh so many things in this way, from light switches to sideboards, coasters, mobile phone cases, electric ceiling fans the list is endless. Take a look at the gorgeous girly chest of draws above.

Gift Wrap, Gift Tags and Cards Using Vintage Flower Paper

This time of year when you look around the shops there are Christmas trees and Santa Clause everywhere you look. It`s the season for coming together and the season for giving. Have you got your wrapping paper in, if not why not customise your own with your vintage flower paper. In a general sense woman love all things floral. Your mum, sister, nan, aunt or best mate would appreciate some home-made gift wrap, maybe choosing their favourite vintage flower. Or what about a card with the message thinking of you just to let someone know you care.  And lastly don`t forget to make gift tags to go along with the presents.

How to Make Bunting using Vintage Flower  Paper

Bunting is a creative way to liven up any room and make it look beautiful. I think vintage flower paper bunting would look great to match along with your floral themed bedroom. Just follow these simple steps and away you go.

You will need

  • Vintage flower Paper
  • Adhesive
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Cardboard
  • Hanging hooks

Simply cut your cardboard into triangles any size you wish however all matching. Next cover and glue your vintage flower paper to the triangles creating a fabulous floaty effect. When the glue is dry prick holes in the corner of each triangle and thread the string through each hole. Now you have your bunting use the hanging hooks to attach to the ceiling and voila your very own vintage flower paper bunting.

This is just a glimpse of ideas on how to get creative with your vintage flower paper. There are lots of other ways to get busy for example you could use papier-mâché to make a gorgeous vintage style bowl. Or you could make your own floral paper popcorn bags or treats bags simply by wrapping the paper round your head like a party hat and turning upside down then taping together. Have fun with it whatever you choose!
