What is Romantic Shabby Chic Shabby Chic is a term for a specific interior design that was first used in the early eighties. The term was trademarked by a designer called Rachel Ashwell who was the first person to create this style by using papers and fabrics in pretty pastel shades of predominantly pink and pale blue combined with soft cream and white furniture and furnishings.
